Eco-placemaking

On March 29th, our eco-placemaking workshop took place in Soajo, a rural mountain environment, organised by Raiz Minhota Cooperative.

On 28 March 2026, a community action day in Sárisáp marked an important milestone in the RurALL project: the local eco-placemaking intervention brought together residents and the municipality to create the first station of a new village walking trail (Faluséta).

Building on the momentum of March’s vibrant community action day, Dorog’s eco-placemaking journey pressed on with a second hands-on event at the Schmidt Sándor housing estate on 28 March.

On the 21st of March, with the meeting point at Linhares Roman Bridge, we launched a clean-up, planting and environmental revitalisation initiative at the “O Olho” stream, organised by Reflorestar Serra de Arga with the support of WWF Portugal, as part of the European RurALL project and the full support and collaboration of the Lanheses Parish Council.

Last Saturday marked an important milestone in the RurALL project’s eco-placemaking process in Dorog. What had started nearly a year ago as a series of community workshops has now taken tangible form at the Schmidt Sándor housing estate — through a hands-on community action day.

 Pistes Solidaires, within the framework of the RurALL project, organised the inauguration of its Living Lab in Pau, southwestern France. The event brought together 33 participants — local residents, young people, community garden members, City of Pau representatives, international students and project partners — for a full day of participatory eco-placemaking, combining hands-on co-design and collective visioning.

Aves do Lima was a one-day event in Lanheses dedicated to bird watching and nature illustration, promoted by WWF and supported by the Parish Council of Lanheses and the Reflorestar Serra d'Arga group.

On Sunday, 8 March 2026, the RurALL project team welcomed local residents to the József Attila Cultural House in Dorog to help plan the upcoming eco-placemaking project at the Schmidt Sándor housing estate.

This autumn, two inspiring eco-placemaking activities brought together children, families, teachers, and local partners to create greener and more connected communities.

On January 24th, representatives from WWF Portugal gathered approximately 25 people at the Parish Council in Lanheses for a participatory session to introduce the Eco Placemaking event, to be held in March at the same location.
