This autumn, two inspiring eco-placemaking activities brought together children, families, teachers, and local partners to create greener and more connected communities.
🌲 EKO DEŇ OFFLINE – Krompachy
In November 2025, students from Private United School Eduram took part in EKO DEŇ OFFLINE, a hands-on environmental workshop held at Líščí vrch near Krompachy. Swapping their mobile phones for working tools, students planted 25 fir trees and learned about forest restoration, biodiversity, and environmental responsibility with guidance from a local forestry expert.
The event combined practical action with experiential learning, strengthening teamwork, ecological awareness, and community spirit. By creating new green space, participants contributed not only to the local environment but also to improving well-being and reducing climate anxiety. The day concluded with reflection activities and team games promoting offline communication and cooperation.
🌳 Planting for the Future – Bučany Kindergarten
In December 2025, Bučany Kindergarten hosted an environmental planting event involving 85 children, 17 parents, and teachers. Together, they planted fruit trees and shrubs in the kindergarten yard, transforming the space into a greener, more vibrant environment for learning and play.
The activity supported early environmental education through hands-on experience and strengthened cooperation between families and the school community. The newly planted trees will continue to grow alongside the children, serving as a living symbol of shared responsibility and care for nature.
Both events demonstrate how eco-placemaking can empower communities of all ages. By working together to improve shared spaces, participants gained practical skills, strengthened relationships, and experienced the positive impact of collective environmental action.
